NILT acquired by ROE
Radiant Opto-Electronics Corporation (ROE), a global leader in mass production of back-light module technologies, is pleased to announce the successful acquisition of NIL Technology ApS (NILT), a Danish company renowned for its cutting-edge meta-optics and nanostructured flat optics solutions. This strategic acquisition, initially announced on September 19th, 2024, has received all necessary governmental approvals, and is now finalized.

The acquisition brings together NILT’s pioneering capabilities in advanced optics, including meta-optics, diffractive optics, and advanced gratings, with ROE’s extensive experience in large-scale optical module manufacturing. NILT has been at the forefront of fabricating advanced nanostructures since its founding in 2006 and is vertically integrated within nanostructured flat optics (meta-optics/metalenses). With demand for its technology increasing, NILT has matured
its meta-optics technology across the value chain from design to prototyping and is now scaling its manufacturing organization and capabilities to meet higher-volume customer requests.
Strategic Acquisition for Committing to Meta-Optics Manufacturing
ROE, established in 1995, has a proven track record in the mass production of high-end backlight modules with more than 1 billion products sold. The company has consistently demonstrated its commitment to innovation and quality, serving some of the world’s most demanding and technologically advanced customers. With this acquisition ROE is establishing itself strategically as a leading company in the field of meta-optics manufacturing using nanoimprint lithography (NIL).

NILT will continue its operations unaffected, supporting all its customers with design, prototyping, and mass production of meta-optics, as well as its other business activities, including masters for imprinting and replication, nano-structure foundry services, and the CNI imprint tool. ROE will harness its European optical engineering expertise
and Asian scaling capability to provide advanced light-guide, light management film, and meta-optics products and services to the customers.
